Cable Distribution Boxes, also known as Cable Junction Boxes, are essential devices used for cable line distribution, branching, termination, and circuit conversion. These boxes are predominantly employed in outdoor environments. In the context of China, Cable Distribution Boxes are categorized into two major types: Ordinary Distribution Boxes and Advanced Distribution Boxes.

European cable distribution box

1. Ordinary Distribution Boxes:

Ordinary Distribution Boxes do not incorporate any switch devices. The internal structure is simple, with accessories used for processing and connecting cable ends. These boxes are characterized by their small size and simple design. In these boxes, the incoming and outgoing cables are electrically connected, sharing the same potential. Ordinary Distribution Boxes are suitable for basic cable distribution and branching scenarios.

2. Advanced Distribution Boxes:

Advanced Distribution Boxes not only include accessories found in Ordinary Distribution Boxes but also feature one or more switch devices. The structure is more complex, with a larger volume and more connector components. These boxes not only perform distribution and branching functions but also control and switch power circuits, altering operational modes. Due to the larger size of the switch devices, the external dimensions of Advanced Distribution Boxes are generally larger, with heights ranging from 1.4 to 1.8 meters, depths of 0.9 to 1.0 meters, and lengths depending on the number of switch devices.

Distinctions between European and American Styles of Cable Distribution Boxes in China:

In the realm of high-voltage cable distribution boxes in China, two main series of connector devices are prevalent: European-style and American-style.

1.Differences in Insulation Structure:

European-style devices have an outer layer of two rubber coatings, whereas American-style devices have three rubber layers – an inner shielding layer, a primary insulation layer, and an external shielding layer, earning them the designation of being shielded. This design makes American-style devices slightly more expensive.

2.Varied Approaches to Branch Circuit Connection:

European-style devices use a series-connected branching method, where several silicone rubber-insulated T-type devices are connected in series to form the main circuit. American-style devices, on the other hand, adopt a parallel-connected branching method, overcoming some of the drawbacks of the series-connected approach, such as complex fault handling and reduced conductivity reliability.

3.Differences in Conical Taper of the Matching Surface:

European-style matching taper follows the German standard DIN47636, featuring a smaller taper. In contrast, the American-style matching taper adheres to the IEEE386 American standard, with a slightly larger taper. The taper difference affects interface insulation strength and water-resistant capabilities.

4.Principles for Distinguishing European and American Style Devices:

The branching structure and insulation structure of connector devices can be used as criteria for distinguishing European and American styles.

Gukao production cable distribution boxes comprise cable accessories, load switches, electrical components, secondary components, and cabinets. These boxes facilitate direct disconnection of branch circuits and users, enabling regional power outage maintenance without affecting the main network's operational conditions. The use of prefabricated electrified and touchable silicone rubber cable heads ensures full sealing, insulation, and maintenance-free reliability, guaranteeing personal safety. With a compact and aesthetically pleasing stainless steel double-layer cabinet, these boxes have a service life exceeding 20 years. They allow for regional power outage maintenance without affecting the main network's operation and can be equipped with one or more SF6 load switches. The flexible and diverse wiring methods support up to eight branch circuits. Optional features include lightning arresters, short-circuit fault indicators, and current-limiting fuses, catering to various user requirements.
